MONSOON TRAINING

Monsoon continuously trains and upgrades its pool of seafarers through upgrading training courses in accordance with STCW and Flag State requirements in order to achieve a high standard of safety and professional skills and to enhance safety, job satisfaction and career prospects for all seamen. To achieve a high standard of manning, Monsoon expects all its seamen to actively participate in training and upgrading in a systematic manner while ashore and onboard ships. All seamen must clearly understand their responsibilities towards training and upgrading.

Monsoon Training Policy focus on the following areas :

• Basic Safety Courses e.g. STCW 95 courses

• Professional Licence & Professional Enhancement Courses e.g. Deck officers and Engineers professional licences, Coastal Navigation, Ship Simulator and Handling, Shipboard Management, Planned Maintenance Course, Engineering, Specialized Tanker Safety Course, GMDSS, Cooking, Welding, Crane Driving courses etc.

• General Training e.g. Maritime English, ISM, Computer, Nutrition & Health Education etc.

• Cadet Training


In the areas of Education & Training of our seafarers, Monsoon have identified several reputable and qualified training institutions in respective crew supply country for developmental maritime training of our seafarers. Monsoon’s training programs are organized for the most cost effective long term benefit for both seamen and employer.



Comprehensive training and upgrading and a Cadet program ensure a steady supply of quality seafarers to the Company. Computer Based Training (CBT), in-house seminars and briefings are conducted regularly to ensure our officers and ratings are up to date on latest regulations and practices in the maritime industry.
